Options We
Provide
Bariatric and metabolic surgeries are among the
most commonly performed surgeries in the world.
These surgeries are performed for the treatment of
obesity and overweight conditions, as well as for
metabolic diseases such as diabetes. A wide
variety of procedures are available to best provide
solutions for those in need. Tallgrass staff
are experienced at all of the mainstream procedures
offered today, and are continuously updating our
practices and techniques to keep up with changes in
medical science.
Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding
In a lap band procedure, the band is
surgically placed around the upper portion of
the stomach, creating a smaller stomach pouch.
The benefit of this procedure is that the
patient feels "full" quicker, and is satisfied
with smaller amounts of food during a meal.
Furthermore, there is no cutting or "stapling"
of the stomach. As a result, lap band
procedures are the least traumatic of all weight
loss surgeries.
