Will I Lose
Much Weight?
Weight loss always varies from patient to
patient. Remember, you should lose weight
gradually. Losing weight too quickly can be
risky to your health. Our patients will
typically lose 9-10 pounds per month, or 100 pounds
in the first year. Setting achievable weight
loss goals before the procedure is important to your
success.
Will A Lap
Band Impair Physical Activity?
No. You will be able to have an active
lifestyle with a lap band.
How Long
Will It Take Me to Recover?
Most of our patients will go home the same day
as the procedure, and can return to work within the
same week. Within a month, you will be able to
return to normal physical activities (such as
exercise, jogging, etc.)
How Will My
Hunger Adjust With A Lap Band?
One of the benefits of a lap band is that it makes
you feel full quicker. It does this by
decreasing the capacity of your stomach, as well as
by increasing the amount of time it takes food to
pass through your digestive system.
Will The
Lap Band Decrease The Amount of Food I Can Eat?
Yes. You will be able to eat most foods with a
lap band, but the amount of food you eat will
decrease. It is important to not overeat with
a lap band.
