Tallgrass
Surgery Center accepts most insurance plans. To find
out if Tallgrass Surgical Center is a participating
provider in your plan, you may contact our Business
Office at (785) 272-8807.
Our facility
fee covers your preoperative evaluation, most
supplies and medications, equipment, personnel and
the use of the operating and recovery room. The fee
does not change based on how long a patient is in
surgery for a particular procedure. Your overall
facility fee will be higher if multiple surgical
procedures are performed or an overnight stay is
required after surgery.
Our business
office will call your insurance carrier prior to
surgery and verify your medical benefits for our
facility fee. If your insurance requires special
authorizations, referrals, or claim forms, please
bring these completed forms and your insurance card
on the day of your surgery.
Those patients
without insurance coverage and/or cash patients will
be required to pay for services the day of surgery
by cash, cashier’s check or money order. We also
accept Visa and MasterCard.
You should
receive a statement of your account after we have
received payment or some type of communication from
your insurance company regarding your surgery. This
is usually 30 to 60 days after your surgery date.
The timeliness
of payment varies according to the payer. If you
have not received a statement from us within two
months, please do not hesitate to contact us
regarding your account status.
In addition to
the facility charge, you will be billed separately
for the following services:
- Your
physician or surgeon

Anesthesia *
-
Laboratory tests required before, during or
after your surgery

Pathology, if tissue or specimens were removed
during surgery
* If you
received anesthesia or it was necessary for an
anesthesiologist to be available for your surgery

Tallgrass
Surgery Center expects that unpaid balances will be
addressed in a timely manner. However, we understand
that payment arrangements are needed occasionally
due to unforeseen circumstances. The Business Office
staff will develop a payment agreement, acceptable
to both you and us, should the need arise.
